Solar Met Metering Packages designed
by Dommelvalley Green Power offer another option with solar
without Government Involvement such as the Ontario Power Authority
If the microFIT program is no longer a viable option for
you to consider then consider our Solar Net Metering Systems
as an alternative. It is cheaper and does not have all the
Ontario Power Authority strings attached.
Net Metering VS microFIT
- The only basic difference between Net Metering Systems and
MicroFIT systems is its connection point to the grid. With
solar microFIT Systems the connection point is in parallel
with existing load meter by adding a seperate revenue meter.
With Net Metering the connection point is behind your load
meter, connecting directly into your main electrical panel.
Net Metering will therefore reduce your utility bill directly
as the solar energy production will feed the house first.
Any solar energy not used inside the house will go towards
a credit on your utility bill which can be used again as long
as it used within the year it produced it. If the system is
correctly sized you will never lose that credit energy and
you will always use it.
Why Net Metering?
Net Metering systems are NOT regulated by the Ontario Power
Authority - OPA!
The system directly reduces your electricity use at home delivered
by the utility company as the power comes from Solar for periods
of the day, its reduction will be based on todays electricity
prices and adjusted when electricity prices change.
There is no 20 year contract and therefore no cap on the term
that the system is in use.
Yes, Net Metering Systems do not require Domestic Content
Compliance.
The cost of a Net Metering system compared to a similar microFIT
system is therefore cheaper.
Yes, Net Metering Systems do not have the limitation on the
DC side, only the AC side, and therefore can be slighly larger
than a current microFIT System.
Yes, Net Metering System can be either roof or ground mounted,
yes trackers as well. No limitation on the zoning of a specific
property.
Yes, Net Metering Systems can be installed on residential
zoned properties.
We only need approval from your Local Utility Company. Therefore
capacity for the grid must be available in your area.
All of our Net Metering Systems are ESA inspected and comply
with the local electrical code and CSA/UL certifications to
connect to the utility grid.
We have additional packages available, so do not hestitate
to give us a call to discuss.
